Reverse

CARo _ LVS (incribed in two lines).

DOR _ STAT (degenerate legend with DOR or DR or even just two symbols? STAT retrograde below and an ax turned to the left under the legend).

Photo of a coin sold by Jean Elsen & ses Fils S.A., link to the sale: https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=3989350, link to their website: http://www.elsen.eu/. From the Jean Elsen collection.

I noted the legend of reverse with DOR because the curved symbols resemble the letters C turned downwards which one finds among others on type 4, var 4. It misses just the letter O in the middle. The legend is, in my opinion, degenerate ... In addition it is retrograde, even the ax, usually turned to the right is here turned to the left. We can still read DR STAT or STAT simply, as did Jean Elsen & ses Fils S.A ..

The estimate takes into account the pedigree ''Jean Elsen collection''. This type is currently unique. If another coin went on sale, I think its price would be that of a normal coin. So withdraw 1.000 Euros from each state of conservation if another coin was put up for sale
