I classify this coin as a variant because of the retrograde letter N on the obverse. This coin shares the same dies as the coin shown in the RIC X which did not noted this retrograde letter. Maybe a barbarous strike.

The notable differences between the Tremissii of the mint of Milan and those of Rome are:

Milan

latin cross larger and thin.
the bottom of the wreath shows large and wide crosses and has no ribbon.

Rome

smaller and wider latin cross.
the bottom of the wreath shows decorations and ribbons.
