This same feature is visible on two other coins with a different reverse die: one coin sold the 28/05/2009 by Heritage Auctions, Auction 3005, lot 20151 (which I discuss below) and another coin sold the sold the 22/04/2023 by MDC Monaco, Auction 11, lot 411, link to the sale: https://www.sixbid.com/fr/mdc-monaco/10516/empire-romain/9110913/empire-romain-theodose-ii-402-450-solidus?term&orderCol=lot_number&orderDirection=asc&priceFrom&displayMode=large&auctionSessions=12182%7C490091&sidebarIsSticky=false. Variant without jewel on the diadem. The same kind of variant observed for Zeno with VICTORIA AVGGG type.

A coin whose letter B of CONOB is badly inscribed, sold the 28/05/2009 by Heritage Auctions, Auction 3005, lot 20151, link to the sale and their website: https://coins.ha.com/itm/roman-imperial/ancient-coins/ancients-theodosius-ii/a/3005-20151.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515

This series differs from the previous one by the presence of the star on the left on the reverse and a normal size bust. As for Zeno, we notice a finer portrait of the first years (397 / 402), while the portraits of the following series will become wider and Theodosius II will look more to the right, even if mixtures exist from 402. There is a wide variety of portrait styles for this series spanning many years.

I note two coins whose tip of the spear has been forgotten or badly engraved:
