Coin illustrated in ''Numismatica 1942, Lodovico Laffranchi, ''Il Medaglione aureo di Teodosio II'', page 41, Figg 1-2. Source: Found at Bregovo in Bulgaria, preserved in private collection at Sofia.
The coin weighs 23.00 grams from which approximately 3 grams have been removed to obtain the weight without the attachment. So I consider it to be a Medaillon of 4.5 Solidi. L. Laffranchi gave the mark COMOB, however we read CONOB and the style is that of Constantinople.
I note the star on the reverse as part of the design and not a mark.
