Variant with INP instead of IMP on the reverse. Another copy with the unmistakable INP word has been sold on 13 August 2013 by Stack's Bowers Galleries, August 2013 Chicago ANA Auction, lot 34085, link to the sale: https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=1652305

Note another coin of the same type with a Germanic barbarian style, further showing the multicultural composition of the Constantinople mint at this period. Coin sold on 10 October 2016 by Gorny & Mosch Giessener Münzhandlung, Auction 241, lot 2971, link to the sale: https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=3385602. Coin ranked AYC #22 degen 3, RIC 324.

Let's add a copy of the same type with an offset engraving on the reverse, the word IMP (INP here) is not aligned correctly with the rest of the legend. This copy is type I, while the legend ends at the level of the shield and not before, however we find all the other attributes of type I: tall and elongated character, square throne, triangular leg.. Coin sold on 14 March 2011 byFritz Rudolf Künker, Auction 182, lot 968, link to the sale: https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=959186.

Type I: with mark CONOB or COMOB (CONOB here) and the reverse legend usually ending before the shield. No punctuation on legend on either side. A square throne, the right leg as a triangular protuberance, stiff drapery and vertical scepter. This corresponds to type III of RIC X. Var B is the same as RIC X: smaller and rounder shield.
