''ov Sev'' in the reference: AYC #8 ov Sev, means that this coin is overstruck on a denarius of Septimius Severus. ''ov'' for overstruck. On the reverse I can see the letters AE after what looks like the end of a wing. We can then better read the rest of the legend on the obverse: IMP XI PARTH... Here is a photo showing what the original coin looked like (RIC 142 Septimius Severus):

Photo of a coin sold the 01/10/2014 by Auktionshaus H.D. Rauch GmbH, Mail Bid Sale 8, lot 463, link to the sale: https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=190394, link to their website: https://www.hdrauch.com/site/de/. Noted RIC 141 by the auction house, it is however the RIC 142.

This same type has been overstruck for Dryantilla, see AYC #5 ov Sev, RIC 2. And for Regalianus with reverse PROVIDENTIA AVGG, see AYC #9 ov Sev (1), RIC 8.

I add here two other coins of which one distinguishes the hair of Septimus Severus but of which the rest of the original coin is undetermined. The first coin has been sold the 19/01/2021 by Classical Numismatic Group, Triton XXIV, lot 1140, link to the sale: https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=7737355, link to their website: https://www.cngcoins.com/. I see a shape on the reverse, which looks like Victoria. Here is the coin:

The second coin shows the hair of Septimius Severus and no other legible detail is noticeable. This coin shares the same obverse die  as the AYC #3, RIC - and the AYC #8 ov?, RIC 6. Coin sold the 15/09/2003 by UBS Gold & Numismatics, Auction 57, lot 442, link to the sale: https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=142463.

I assign the RIC numbers according to the marked legends. For example, RIC 7 is given for an overstrike of a Caracalla denarius. I have classified coins under this number 6 because they use the same legends for Regalianus, even though they are overstruck from other emperors. The RIC 6 is also existing for two different types: LIBERLAS AVGG and ORIENS AVGG, this is a number assignment error. The ORIENS AVGG type should be n°7.
