''ov Sev'' in the reference: AYC #8 ov Sev, means that this coin is overstruck on a denarius of Septimius Severus. ''ov'' for overstruck. The reverse of the original coin appears to feature a seated figure. I distinguish. I distinguish PT on the obverse above the rest of the hair of Septimius Severus. Which may indicate the legend: L SEPT SEV PERT AVG... several reverses with a seated figure correspond to this beginning of legend. Probably the oldest coin being overstruck over the entire coinage of Regalianus and Dryantilla.

I assign the RIC numbers according to the marked legends. For example, RIC 7 is given for an overstrike of a Caracalla denarius. I have classified coins under this number 6 because they use the same legends for Regalianus, even though they are overstruck from other emperors. The RIC 6 is also existing for two different types: LIBERLAS AVGG and ORIENS AVGG, this is a number assignment error. The ORIENS AVGG type should be n°7.
