''ov Elag'' in the reference: AYC #8 ov Elag, means that this coin is overstruck on a coin of Elagabalus. ''ov'' for overstruck. The auction house rightly attributes the original coin to Elagabalus while giving VICTOR ANTONINI reverse. We can read on the obverse: ANTONINVS AVG. For the reverse I see a shape resembling Victoria's clothing and the probable letters: R AN ... Very difficult to read in this photo. The auction house probably had better visibility with the coin in hand. Here is a photo showing what the original coin probably looked like (here a denarius, the antoninii also exist with the legend ANTONINVS AVG):

I assign the RIC numbers according to the marked legends. For example, RIC 7 is given for an overstrike of a Caracalla denarius. I have classified coins under this number 6 because they use the same legends for Regalianus, even though they are overstruck from other emperors. The RIC 6 is also existing for two different types: LIBERLAS AVGG and ORIENS AVGG, this is a number assignment error. The ORIENS AVGG type should be n°7.
