Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian I Africanus to the right, seen from three quarter back.

ROMAE AETE - RNAE

Rome seated left on a shield and throne, holding a scepter with the left hand and a victory with the right hand. Victory holds a palm with the right hand and a crown with the left hand.
