CARLVS RX FR (circular legend around a cross surrounded by a circle made up of dots, a cross between FR and CARLVS).

AGINN● (circular legend around the Karolus monogram (1) surrounded by a circle made up of dots, the letter O filled, a cross between the letters O and A).

Coin seen on the detection forum: http://www.detectionpassion.fr/, link to the page showing the coin: http://www.detectionpassion.fr/forum/topics/view/monnaie-caro-1. Coin to be weighed and authenticated to ensure its authenticity.

Monograms Karolus:

(1) Without letter A in the diamond on the middle.

(2) With the letter A inscribed at the top in the diamond on the middle.

(3) With the letter A written at the left in the diamond on the middle.

It is a type which is between type 1 and type 2. Type 1 uses the legend RX FR instead of REX FR (type 2) but the monogram Carolus. Here the monogram is Karolus as on type 2. I classify it as a variant of type 1 due to the legend of the obverse, the monogram being only a small detail which I note as a variant for all coins. This coin also shows a fulfilled letter O for AGINNO.
