CARLVS REX RF (circular legend around the Karolus monogram (2) surrounded by a circle made up of dots, a cross between RF and CARLVS).

MOGONTIA (circular legend around a cross surrounded by a circle made up of dots, a cross between the letters A and M. One globule at the lower left corner of the cross).

One copy preserved at the Münzkabinett der Staatlichen Museen of Berlin, link to the page of their website showing the photo of the coin: http://www.smb-digital.de/eMuseumPlus?service=ExternalInterface&module=collection&objectId=2448618&viewType=detailView.

Monograms Karolus:

(1) Without letter A in the diamond on the middle.

(2) With a dot in the diamond on the middle.

The letters FR on the obverse are in reverse order: RF. I consider that the cross which separates the legend from the reverse, represents the top of the coin (the north) and therefore the position of the globule on the reverse is calculated according to this detail.
