Denarius
CARLVS REX FR (circular legend around a cross surrounded by a circle made up of dots, a cross between FR and CARLVS, one globule at each angle of the cross).
LAVDVNO (circular legend around the Carolus monogram (1) surrounded by a circle made up of dots, a cross between the letters O and L, three globules in a triangle between the letter O and the cross).
Coin sold by The Bru Sale, link to the sale: https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=1165218. This coin is very similar to the illustrations in old works (same centering, shape of blank ...). I quote The Bru Sale: ''Very rare. 1 example according to Depeyrot.''... ''European private collection''. Is this this unique copy? Or a second? Probably the same coin.
Monogram Carolus:
(1) All letters inscribed normally.
The letter C in the monogram is unmistakable, we usually see it associated with a short legend. Here the legend is complete. We see a very small point in the center of the monogram, without being able to judge with certainty on photo, if this point is part of the original coin.
