CARLVS REX FR (circular legend with the letter V in the shape of A, around a cross surrounded by a circle made up of dots, a cross between FR and CARLVS).

TVRONIS (circular legend with the letter S inclined, around the Karolus monogram (2) surrounded by a circle made up of dots, a cross between the letters S and T).

Monograms Karolus:

(1) Without letter A in the diamond on the middle.

(2) With the letter A inscribed at the top in the diamond on the middle.

 

It seems that the dies of these coins have been re-used for Charles II The Bald, therefore it is impossible to differentiate the coins. These coins will be classified under the two kings with this same comment.

 

The only difference between type 1 and type 1, var 4 is the letter V on the obverse, in the shape of letter A.
