Monogram Karolus:

(1) With the letter A inscribed at the top in the diamond on the middle.

Another copy preserved at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (public domain), link to the page of their website showing the photo of the coin: https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/btv1b10413708b.r=charlemagne%20denier?rk=1502153;2. This coin has a triangular shape between the letter A and the letter R on the reverse, probably a die break or an error during the engraving, rather than a triangle as we sometimes see in other mints.

This type, as well as all of its variants, shows a reverse with the legend beginning at 6 a.m., if we put the monogram in the right direction.
