CARo _ LVS (inscribed in two lines, the letter V resembling the letter A reversed?).

LEM _ S (les lettres L, E et M rétrogrades et sous une longue croix inclinée vers la gauche (tilde prolongé d'une croix), la lettre S inclinée sous les lettres E et M).

Uncertainty on the exact form of the letter V. It seems to be like on other coins and to have the shape of the letter A reversed but without the sikes starting from the bottom of the letter.
