Photo of the copy preserved at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (public domain), link to the page of their website showing the photo of the coin: https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/btv1b104124811.r=louis%20le%20pieux?rk=4914187;2.

The globule on the reverse is tiny, one could think of a small break .. but another coin sold by cgb.fr, with a different die of the reverse, shows this same small dot. It is therefore indeed a globule. Link to the coin sold by cgb.fr: https://www.cgb.fr/louis-ier-le-pieux-ou-le-debonnaire-denier-ttb-,v26_0753,a.html.
