Imitation of a Didrachm struck towards the end of the 3rd century before Christ. Difficult to link this coin to a precise reference. In addition to the strange mark behind the helmet, noted by London Ancient Coins, I notice that the crest of the helmet falls as on the lion types tearing a slaughtered prey. I also note that the letter E after the T, has been added. In addition, the low part of the helmet is not decorated. It is therefore possible that this coin is copied from two coins of different types. Regardless of these details, the general aspect leaves no doubt. The patina is artificial, we can see the dark and uniform part around the portrait and the design on the reverse, characteristic of artificial patinas for false modern coins. Informations of weight and diameter, die axis: 11h, from London Ancient Coins.
