The imitated type is a Solidus RIC 1287, because of the diameter of about 20.00 mm. The weights, vary as indicated from 2.70 grs to 3.27 grs. This is a fake because the weight is not good, not counting the overall look that I do not like. The real official Solidus, weighs on average 4.43 grs, the Semissis being the division of the Solidus, weighs 2.20 grs and the Tremissis weighs 1.40 grs. The weight is too weak to be a Solidus and too heavy for one of its divisions. The copy in photo was provided to me by a collector who claims that he own this coin for over 30 years ... So since the 90s. This false is modern and not ancient as would suggest the weight. But many modern fakes are also not at the right weight and there have been too many coins sharing the same coin of obverse and having similar weights, sold during the same short period. I saw only one obverse die and two reverse dies for these fake ones. I do not have the copyrights photos to illustrate the second reverse die, but it is almost similar except the top of the standard which is decorated and the head of the victory which is a simple ball. It seems to me that CGB, link to their website: https://www.cgb.fr/ had warned us about fake Honorius with various dies, discovered in the 80s, without I can find this source.

This fake is very dangerous and has deceived many experts.
